Ghantasala Sangeetha Kalasala, a cultural unit of Sharathchandra Cultural and Social Service Trust, is a non-profit based music college which is one of a kind with an objective to provide professional training to the interested people with no age restriction and mould them into brilliant stage performers. Highlighting and promoting our great musical and literary heritage to the present and upcoming generations is the main aim of the institution. The college was first established in the year 2009 in Hyderabad, India. Grandly inaugurated by the legendary actor, Padmabhushan Dr. Akkineni Nageswar Rao and Gnanapeeth awardee Dr. C. Narayana Reddy, the college has a successful 8 years completion record and produced a large pool of trained artists who are into professional singing and into their own music organizations. A meticulous teaching methodology is followed where the candidate is trained in various phases beginning from basic concepts till the professional level of singing. A well designed course curriculum is established with specified durations for each course and upon successful completion, the students are awarded diploma completion certificates in the convocation ceremony.



2009 - 2010

  • Introduced Pre-Professional Course (PPC)
  • Trained 27 students and awarded PPC completion certificates in the convocation ceremony.

2010 - 2011

  • Introduced Lalitha Sangeetham Diploma Course which is a specialized course in Ghantasala’s Private songs and poetic classics.
  • Trained 42 students and awarded PPC completion certificates in the convocation ceremony.

2011 - 2012

  • Introduced VIDWAN diploma course, which was inaugurated by Dr.Varaprasad Reddy.
  • Opened branches in Vishakapatnam and Eluru in A.P. Dr. Akkineni Nageswarao garu was the chief guest for the opening ceremony.
  • Organized a continuous 12 hour musical program in Hyderabad, assembling 156 students from all the branches along with the official dignitaries.
  • 29 students were enrolled in this year and the total number of students rose to 53, who had taken admission into PPC, VIDWAN and Lalitha Sangeetham Diploma courses.


  • 21 students were awarded PPC and 18 VIDWAN Diploma certificates by Dr.C. Narayan Reddy and Telugu University Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Elluri Siva Reddy.
  • Introduced new musical concept “Paataku Pallavi Praanam”. This was conducted monthly with a total of 7 episodes dividing all the students into these batches. The objective of this concept is to train the students on the professional aspects of singing and introduce them and make them acquainted to the stage performances.


  • Introduced “Vedika” concept, which is a semester- wise course, the aim of which is to give stage to each student by the end of each semester.
  • Duration of each semester is 3 months, where the student is trained completely and post completion of exams, stage performance is arranged. Apart from the above listed Diploma courses, new set of courses have been inaugurated recently in the college which are mentioned below:

Vedika: Cinema sangeetam
Vahini: Lalitha sangeetam
Surabhi: Padya Sangeetam
Raagini: Vaadya sangeetam


  • Introduced "Bhagavadgeeta" course containing 108 verses, where the student will be trained on the raga, characteristics of it and the rendition dynamics associated with the verses.
  • Conducted 1yr Diploma exams to 32 students, out of which 28 cleared and received the completion certificates.


  • Conducted 7 day workshop exclusively on light music with the renowned musicians in the field as gues lecturers and conducted musical training which was open to the interested public also along with our college students.
  • Included a new keyboard playing course which intends to train the student on direct notation playing which simplifies the song playing process and the duration of learning.
